New to the group! I've had my 2019 2.0T Touring for almost a year and LOVE it! Just put a K & N Intake in and it sounds amazing! Looking for honest feedback on a tuner. How much hp does it add and will it effect my manufacture warranty? Again, looking for honest, real world feedback.
Thanks!

First off… welcome!!!

Regarding manufacturers warranty concerns if it is determined that damage caused to your car was due to it being out of factory spec's then your warranty would be in jeopardy. Example: If the tuner you install allows the rev limiter to be adjusted (increased) above factory specs and causes motor or transmission damage then the manufacturer's warranty could be void. Same would go if said tuner would adjust/increase boost to the turbo above factory specs warranty could be in jeopardy.

Some dealers (if tuner is installed by them) will say they will cover any damage and this may be true... however if you have a failure on the road and have to take it to another dealer for service/repair and it is found out there is a tuner on the car it could void your powertrain warranty. Also if the failure occurs locally to your installing dealer and they do cover it they may be doing it on their own dime. If Honda were to find out they were passing on claims for warranty work on vehicles that had voided the manufacturers warranty they stand a chance of repercussions from Honda.

One other thing... if your tuner isn't dealer (and they some way will hide that fact) installed IMO I would put the factory tune in it whenever I had to take my vehicle in for service as I've yet to confirm that when the technician hooks up their scan tool to the car that it will not be flagged for being out of factory specs thus voiding the warranty.

i wont do anything to mine until its destroyed and paid off it that makes any sense? the stock suspension is good for the first 20k miles after that it just feels likes ****. the tires same thing about half life. i had the weird shifts and 2-3 and honda tried to retune the gearing. i didnt tell them i found that out but they did. thats not a solution to down tune a car i paid 37K for. so i just keep telling them they need to put a new trans in. found out they make us all sign a data collection document to try and void our warranties. they can see how fast we drove. if weve launched with brake hold, spun tires. allegedly if we go over 100mph at any point they fight tooth and nail on warranty issues. i called honda and opted out of the data collection. theyre shady. be careful.

this data collection, is it done wirelessly , or through the ECU?

You signed something when you bought the car. I have no idea how it’s done. As far as I know it’s in the computer brain of the car. It could be a data collector off of the multiplex with is the unit that talks to everything in the car. I can 100% for certain say you can call and opt out if you already signed. I don’t know any dealer selling a car that isn’t dropping the paper work in.
