Whistling noise when I step on the gas does anyone know why it does that if it’s bad ?? 2021 Honda Accord 2.0 sport..at first I thought it was a turboNew video by Joaquin R
Just posted link videosMaybe something came loose? How loud is it? Happen in park or moving? Louder or faster with higher engine rev? Do you have someone to help you troubleshoot (they rev while you figure out around where the noise is coming from)?

No it’s done it since I first bought it but only when I floor it lol I first I thought it was the turboHow long have you noticed this noise/sound? Did it start after any recent work/mods done on the car?

But it doesn’t do it all the time weirdNo it’s done it since I first bought it but only when I floor it lol I first I thought it was the turbo
That sounds pretty weird definitely not turbo spooling, how many miles on the car ?

No I don’tSounds like a bad diverter valve diagram or turbo going bad. Do you have a mechanical boost gauge installed by chance?
on yea it does the car is brand newSounds like a bad diverter valve diagram or turbo going bad. Do you have a mechanical boost gauge installed by chance?
My car is fully stock no engine modsSo you do or don't have a boost gauge installed? Brand new car has nothing to do with it parts can be faulty from the factory. And boost gauges or typically install without reducers on there so they get too much air pressure in them causing an almost identical sound.
Ok… it’s a bad thing? It’s going to be problemMy car is fully stock no engine mods
Thanks I take it soonYou probably already thought about this but it’s under warranty just give the Honda Techs the headache not yourself. I would also like to know what the **** that is😆
there is no code to show the car runs fine it just make that noiseA boost gauge is not an engine mod ,far from it. At this point as others said needs to be taken to a dealership. You've provided no codes or pictures so diagnosing is basically impossible and as stated the car is brand new.
Yea sounds good the thing is the noise doesnt happen all the time .. I’m trying to figure out when it happens if it’s when ac is on or what today it was fine 🤷♂️provide the video to the service advisor or give him a ride along in your accord, mine has never made a noise like that and you never know it could turn into a bigger issue down the line.
Thanks I’ll try itThis is exactly why I feel that every car that comes from the factory with a turbo,/sc should have a boost gauge. It's a very simple piece that is invaluable as a preliminary form of diagnosis on a turbo/sc car. Just put it in 4th grear or so and floor it without making it downshift (of you have an auto). If your not hitting max boost you know you have a problem somewhere. Now finding a small boost leak is another entirely lol. Luckily small leaks are usually clamps, or become a bigger leak pretty soon. But sometimes even smoking a car it can be a nightmare.
Did the dealer check if the diaphragm under the brake pedal. The can check doing what is called the smoke test where they introduce "smoke" into the engine bay and if there's an open vacuum the smoke will find it.
There are a handful of videos un youtube about it. It's not a common problem so many techs would not know this
No
On my car it it was the throttlebody coupling .. the clamp . It was hard to figure out because it didn’t do it all the time .. I finally figured out that when the car was hot or warmed up is when he did it. I have a YouTube video on it JRod.CuztomHi! I have the same issue. There’s whistling coming from the passenger side behind the glove box. I only hear it near 60MPH or above WITH the air recirculation on. Once I turn off air recirculation, the noise stops. I took it in several times to the dealership and they found nothing. It’s driving me insane and I’m worried the air causing the whistling is going to cause long term damage. Did you ever find a solution?
