This issue has been beaten to death! It is not a problem. :surprise:
So I guess this article mentioning Honda issuing a service bulletin and correcting the problem at the factory on new models is insignificant... or as you say "It is not a problem"?

I'm only the messenger... I thought the purpose of the forum was to share information... If you have something to share that indicates this isn't a problem please do. This issue doesn't impact me in any way however if it can help someone that does have this particular motor then it's worth sharing the information.

That's my question. How is the CR-V engine concerned and not the Accord? I currently own a 2000 Accord with 260K miles. Car runs like a top, no leaks, squeaks, or rattles. After reading on this forum all of the issues in addition to the oil/fuel mix. issue (CR-V only) with the LKAS, Cruise control, poor quality control and heat/cooling issues, I find it difficult to consider purchasing the new Accord. My other cars are a S2000 and a G37S coupe. I was excited about the new Accord, but now I'm having second thoughts.

Agreed..As Honda owner for many years ,I canot believe that Honda engineers over looked gas combining with oil when designing a new engine Also turbine engines have been around for years..and wilh a little care(changing oil often} should last a long time..Besides not many people keep their cars as used to ,with the advent of leasing. Not my bag. I still have the old ,pride of ownership.stigma

i own a 2018 accord 1.5 earth dream engine and i can smell gasoline in the oil gauge.
seems to me that this model has the same problem of the 2018 civic and crv.
i hope the big chiefs do something about it or no more Honda cars for me .

MichaelR .It is normal to smell a certain amount of gas in the oil of an internal combustion engine..However if you smell gas inside of your car then you have a problem.. look for that and plan to change your oil more often then is planed.
