i read on your site that the ohio plant will be shutting down production for 11 days, that comes in as a surprise, here in canada a lot of buyers wants the accord with the 2.0t engine and are told the waiting time is as long as 3 months, maybe they should build a little more 2.0t accords or send a few more from inventory north of the border.

You guys are after a different car; more sporty in appearance and performance. To me my 2.0T 10 speed is an affordable Audi. The media is looking at the Accord the same way. Unfortunately for Honda, they won’t find the big sales numbers in this new buyer. Looks as though Mazda and Nissin are going the same route, leaving the big numbers to Toyota in the mid size sedan race. The big volume is going to cross overs and trucks now. Dynamic handling and efficient performance is out except for true sporty cars.

Yeah the new Accord seems to be selling better in Canada, than in the U.S. But it looks like Honda is finally making some changes to their pricing model, in an attempt to better compete with Toyota. It also seems like a lot of people aren't very impressed with the new redesign, which I'm finding hard to believe. I think unfortunately for Honda, that the bar is set a little higher for expectations.

Scotty, i can tell that a lot of people are looking at my accord and the way they are looking is that they seem interested in the new design, when i go to the gym i try to park it in front of the window so that people are a liittle more shy of looking inside which happened a few times, there are a lot of younger men with customize civic around and some tried to race or where giving me a thumbs up.I guess one of the reason is that since december i have only seen 2 new accord which were 1.5 sports so there are not that many yet but by july things should pick up.

People really need to look past the surface and see the huge potential that the new powertrain has. With the Hondata tune, the new Accord is matching the torque figures of the Type R. Hopefully the recent cuts to leasing/financing rates encourage more people to take a test drive.

Accord wait time

I had to wait 2 weeks for my 2.0T Touring. So far, after 2 months, I've not seen another 2.0T (Sport or Touring) on the road! My wife now has a new Touring CRV 1.5T and loves it.

It's only a matter of time before people start to recognize the value in Honda's latest offering. Much of its value lies under the hood, so all it will take for most is a simple test drive. Even though people seem to be going with the Camry due to pricing, there is no denying the sportier driving experience is here.
