Air intake systems

Does anyone know if any aftermarket manufacturers are even working on air intakes for the Accord sport 2.0T ? Would it make a big difference with the Hondata tunes or does the stock Intake flow well enough?

Battery Swap = More Room .

I was looking on AFE Power's website and they happen to have an enclosed intake system for the 2.0T Accord...Anyone care to try it out?

https://afepower.com/afe-power-56-70003r-takeda-stage-2-pro-5r-cold-air-intake-system

Edit: It looks like I'm late to the party. People seem to be aware of this system in other threads....Carry on.
I Like the Intake Takeda did for the Type R , which seem a little more developed for $50. Less ?

Only thing is do to Poor Layout of the Battery Location & Master Cly / Brake Booster on AutoX10 - Can't even get close ..
Now If anyone was to - Swap Out Battery - Set Up for one that's in Type R - Instantly pick Up 2 inches or so Possibly move some wires a Bit and Squeeze more Room into
Proper Location .. - Well just a Thought ..Also ~

If We had a Proper Designed Batter Tray ( BRACKET ) - Might be able to Squeeze Battery Up against the Firewall .. Especially using one of those Super Lightweight Battery ..
Read some Good Reports on them .. Place Battery Tender in Garage near Parked Honda for Added Insurance .. Life Time is Reported as High ..

Looks Like they just Lowered the Price - OK more in Line for Accord as the Market will be 10 Times as Large as the R Type - just saying I have seen 2-3 R's and already have seen
8-9 Accords of which 5 were 2.0's
Accord have only been out half the Time the R has - and I have seen twice as many just saying ..

There is another working on Intake - Connected to this Company ..
I Believe I have this Correct ..

Above is Just Tossing Idea's out there let Me know what You think . I Still like PRL's Hose - I think their Filter is Going to be Larger also ..

Hey as Least things are Starting to Shake Loose for the Enthusiast Crowd to Tweak Accord ..2.0T - other then Tunes ..

It's always better to have Support from more Vendors . .
I’m not sold on an intake for this car just yet. With the under the hood temps on this Accord, I feel an open element “short ram” intake will hinder performance far more than it will help. I’m leaning towards simply doing a dry drop in filter once there is one avail. If I were to do an intake, it’d be an enclosed system or the element would have to be further away from the engine compartment...possibly draw from the wheel well as “cold air” intake.
Here's the other link I found other Day - Couldn't Remember Where - that Idiot - Admin was such Stress Out Speed Freak - Oh Yeah , Over @ Link Area .
I wasn't even Done Typing and saving , Never even got a Chance to Edit as I was in the Middle of Doing - got Frozen - I tried in Calm Voice , He I was editing It , but No ..
So I Added the Second Comment about Abandoned Airports etc. , I just Feel there are lot that will Go to a Track or Drag Strip , so I thought they would have some Times .
All I did was ask the Question - Guy Lifted Off - Minute Man Missile . . OK enough said .. I Mostly just tweak Cars - and I'm into it for the Tech .
I'm Not a ( Race Seen ) Guy at All - the - Farthest Thing from My Mind ..

Here's the Site : https://www.mishimoto.com/engineering/2018/09/honda-accord-2018-intake-development-stock-review/
Here's some more Info - so Lets , Break-It -Down .

K&N Filters out - Sq. Inches on those are Approx 55.3125 of Filtering Material = R Type .

K&N Filter Accord - Sq. Inches Of Filtering Material = 58.9" I checked two sites = Accord 2.0T ?

Above seems Off - so Very Well could Be Listed Incorrectly . . I don't Believe - K&N has 5 Layers . .

Everyone Knows the K&N's have a " Wide Border Frame " around Their Filter .

Allowing Best Sq. In. Takeda System = 59.00" - Most likely on High Side as True Dia. of Intake Hoses & Filter - etc. NOT Mentioned !

Honda's - Stock Filter = 48.490 Sq. In. X 1.5 Inches Depth .. & Mostly K&N's run 1.25 Depth so that must be Checked !

Depth of Filtering Media all about same - Seems Honda Designed close to K&N as Generally Stock Air Filters have Deeper 2" Media.

OK - Lunch Hr. Pulled the Air Box just to see what was Going On
Picture with Markings

You see the Three colors - Yellow looks to Pulling Air from the ECU Area or Intent is to ..do that ..

The Blue is Pulling Air from down in Chassis Frame Area ..1.1 Dia. approx . so there is some small additional Inlet the Oval Opening is 1.5" x 4" these are Not Perfect Measurements
Like 1.475 x 4.010 etc. , so the Area of - Air Inlet = Quite Small . .

Motor must be consuming 385 CFM under Full Load or there a bouts . . Roughly You have 300 Cu Ft per min. and Up pulling through .20 Cu. ft. Area - even running down the road
55 Mph might push that up to .8 of Cu. Ft. - so Velocity in this Area is Very High .. and Turbo is Working to Pull Air in Great Velocity . .

Slow Speed Eff% is why Honda did this ..to Keep Air Column Speed up during slow and Light Driving .. No Wonder the Air Intake is Dragging Motor Down High Up ..

The Red small Circle is for Rain Over Spilling into the Air-Box - and there is a Spring Loaded Amount that lets Water Out
Once it Hits certain weight ..

Even thou Tweaks are Certainly Nice Improvements .. maybe what most will use ..

These are @ entirely Other Level :

These are @ entirely Other Level :
PRL has shown 16 whp stock tune. They are also developing a cold air intake.
I'd Be willing to Mod the Top Carry Over Panel - Like the R's to get more Cool Air .
I Believe where the Real Gain will be - When One get - Straighter - Shorter IC Exit Run which means the Large Hose Underneath Current Air Box would be Gone !
Now If Area becomes available one Could another Opening from Bottom of Air Box with say a Side Snorkel .. ..

I also see some other Area's that could be Really Tweaked Very Cool . . - I could Lay it out in 1 Day . .
Slow Speed Eff% is why Honda did this ..to Keep Air Column Speed up during slow and Light Driving .. No Wonder the Air Intake is Dragging Motor Down High Up ..

That would make sense since they were really trying to keep the efficiency to at least the previous V6 numbers.
