I guess its no surprise that the Accord has been named the Canadian Car of the Year. It actually received this distinction at the Canadian International Autoshow, just a couple of weeks ago. It was voted on by close to 100 members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). Apparently the Chrysler Pacifica was also a recipient of this award.

Not bad at all in a market that has been getting great Camry sales but what will really matter is how well the Accord holds up over time against the Camry, if they can outpace the Camry year after year than that will really push potential buyers to investigate why.

I do wonder if these awards actually affect sales or if the Accord would do just as well without them. The overall package is an absolute bargain and it looks more like a premium vehicle then something that starts at just $23,570.
Die hard Toyota fans won't switch from the Camry to the Accord, so sales will need to come from somewhere else.

It's more than deserving of the recognition that it has been receiving, and I have a good feeling we'll be seeing some incredible milestones over the next few months. And who wouldn't want to buy a car will all of these achievements, especially branded with the Accord nameplate.
