Yes, I know this is one of those "How long is a piece of string?" questions, but ...
I had the brake fluid in my 2012 Civic changed about 15 or 16 months ago, and I am relatively certain that the job was done properly (fully drain each wheel, run clean fluid through, refill and top up, etc.). Meanwhile about a week ago I had the Honda dealer do the same job on my 2020 Accord EX-L 2.0T. Once again I think the proper procedure was followed.
Later I took another look at the Civic brake fluid reservoir (had not done so for some time) and the fluid appeared darker than I suspected it would be. Trouble is, I really don't know what to expect after about 15 months. The car gets little usage, perhaps 3000 miles since the last fluid change.
After all this explanation, my question is how long shold the fluid remain reasonably light in color following a fluid exchange and light driving load? Remember, I already know the "piece of string" thingie.
I Found Cap or Lid to Brake Fluid Reservoir - Cocked - on Dad's Truck 5K Miles had it Flushed , Mechanic just Through Lid back on Quickly .. Piss Poor Work ..
