Had read about that a few days ago. Those motors are for "race use only" (as are KTuner/Hondata along w/other performance mods) and total package is $9k. It will be interesting to see if any of them get purchased/used on the street, if so how reliable they will be (along w/other parts IE: transmission) for daily use.

Naw they opened them up for everyone to purchase (next to last paragraph). Personally if I already had a 2.0t that wasnt a CTR would be easier, and cheaper to build the engine, con rods valve ect.
I read/understand that anyone can purchase them now however they also state they are for track/race use only not street legal...

"Honda has now opened the program up to anyone, as it did with the Civic Type R TC race car we recently test drove. Honda is quick to point out, though, that the engine is only for use in track settings and is not street legal.

No worries @Vegashybrid... you're right that disclaimer is seen on most after market performance upgrades as I mentioned in my 1st post in this thread...

However just like the other after market performance parts/accessories someone will try it out.🙂
