Did you ever figure out how to get this done (remove actuator assembly)?
Fuel lid actuator removal
The fuel lid actuator on my '18 Accord has been making a grinding noise every time I lock and unlock my car for sometime now. I've grown to ignore the noise since i can still unlock the lid and load gas when I need to. Does anyone know how to remove the actuator assembly? I've only seen 1 video on Youtube about it but the guy did not show how he actually removed the assembly. He did not need to remove the lid. Any help would be appreciated since have finally decided to replace it. I searched the forum but did not find any posts about this issue.

I was able to do this today, and I have NO skills. Bought the part on Amazon ($27) and watched a video on YouTube.

I used this:
basically, I used a flathead to pry it out. Then, I unplugged it. Then I went to the trunk to see where the hole was that the cord came thought. Then, I yanked the cord out. I plugged in the new one. I had my son sit in the trunk and look for the new wire. (This was the hardest part getting it to the hole.) Once he saw the loop of the wire at the hole, he used a steak Knife to grab it and pull it through. Done!

Thanks for the link and details. Wondering if it would have been easier/possible to tape wire from the old part to the wire to the new part to feed it into position?I used this:
