Hi, I purchased my first Honda last week. They didn't have the color I wanted on the lot but had one on the way so I should be taking delivery any day now. It's a Modern Steel 2.0t Touring.

I was looking for a good affordable sedan now that I have kids. I thought I had owned my last FWD car, but this one checked all the boxes despite not having RWD. My previous FWDs were: 03 GTI, 09 VW CC, and a '13 ES350. Right now i'm coming off of a 2015 Genesis 3.8. I'm excited because the Accord will be faster than my Genesis despite having 50hp less.

I have a question since i haven't picked up my car yet. Does the Front license plate interfere with the honda sense sensor?

Welcome to the forums Jason! It's nice that you got the 2.0T Touring. That is probably has all the bells and whistles with it. You regret it.

I was in the same situation as well. I was shopping for AWD vehicle sedan so I was looking at the 17/18 Audi A4 and A3. They are really nice and eye catching but luckily I decided to go car shopping some more. I choose the new Accord because it offers so much for the price. Not only that, it is really fun to drive on the 2.0T variant. Put in a tune on that thing, and it is a beast!

The license plate doesn't interfere with it at all. It sits above the Honda sense Sensor.
The back seat was a big selling point. The A4 and the IS350 have crazy small back seats. This will make a great daily. later this summer I may pick up a 2-door jeep as a fun 3rd car.

Delivery came in last night about an hour before i had to leave to go out of town. Too bad to because it would have been nice to get to know the car on a small road trip. So now i have to wait to pick up the car on Monday.
Congrats on the new Accord Jason and welcome to the forum! I that you'll find the Accord to be a completely different driving experience over your Genesis. Motortrend actually did a head to head between the new Accord and Audi A4, and found the Accord to be of way better value for your buck.
^^^ I found that also. The A4 and the Accord are just about the same 0-60, but cost 16k more just to get the same options. I didn't think it was worth it right now.

I have another question. The 2.0T, does it run on regular gas or do we need to be putting in 89 or 91 octane?
I would say that depends on your driving style/ aftermarket mods you may plan to make. I recently saw that automakers want premium to become the new standard octane.
Welcome to the forum fellow former Genesis driver. Just exited my '13 R-Spec and willfully jumped into a 2.0T Sport.
I've had my car for about a week and a half now. It takes corners a lot better than my Genesis. I have constantly been adjusting my seat. I can't seem to find the sweet spot. I've had to drive my genesis some while having the accord. The 1st thing i notice is that the seat in the genesis is more comfortable. Perhaps once i get the accord seat broken-in it will be better. The bolstering in the genesis is adjustable and I have it set to hug me.

The 2nd thing i'm really enjoying is the weight of the car. It's super light compared to the genesis. This does make going over speed cushions less comfy, but i'll take it. The handling is really good. I wouldn't say the Accord drives better than the Genesis, but it is more fun. The Genesis was just more easy, like a Lexus.

3rd is the radio. Similar to the handling, I wouldn't say it's better, just different. the genesis seemed clearer and more filled out yet really weak on bass. The Accord has plenty of bass, but isn't quite as clear. My wife has a 2012 X5 with the base radio and it sounds better than both the Accord and the Genesis(Lexicon). I had a 2013 Lexus ES350 before the Genesis and still thought her X5 sounded better than the Mark Levinson. I would actually say, by memory, the Accord sounds about as good as the Lexus.

Just a quick follow up about the radio. I took the car on a small road trip. I needed to charge my phone so i plugged it in and then was listening to music straight from my phone. This made the sound perfect. I guess the compression is not that great on satellite and even streaming from the Bluetooth.

I don't like plugging my phone in unless it needs power, so i might get a usb drive with all my music to see if that works.
