i just found out about this “hack”. I have a 19’ 2.0t sport manual. I’m hoping they can do it for me. Already asked 2 dealers and they never heard of that so they don’t want to do it. Lame. But found one in Fontana that actually sells the remote online. Waiting for their response to see if they’ll do it

So update, I had a locksmith program the key fob but was unsuccessful. i have the 2.0 manual. I don't know if I want to even try to take it to the dealer for them to try.
My buddy is a locksmith and he did it for me ,no issues and worked like a champ on my 20 1.5 sport, the dealer quoted me $130 so I passed on that.
Like mentioned above manual trans is a different process. I don’t think I would want that on a manual car though.

Because you have the manual transmission don't believe you will be able to get the OEM remote start to work on your car. Been years since I was in a manual transmission car but I thought there was a safety feature requiring the clutch be depressed before starting (even if the car was in neutral). There may be some aftermarket remote starts that work but it would have to be one that recognizes and only starts when the car is in neutral w/park brake applied.

The post below has video of how this is done...
That would be correct... see this thread - 1.5t Remote Start Hack and the following video...

The below member's post states it doesn't have to be taken to a dealer to have it done and a locksmith can do it. If you do want to go the route of locksmith I would show them the above video and verify the have the ability/equipment to do it.

I got the 72147-TWA-A21 Driver 1 FOB programmed by a locksmith on my '18 Sport. Remote start FOB works fine along with the original 2 FOBs. I now have remote start but I noticed that the A/C does not turn on with the car (just fan on low speed). I tried to put it all the way Lo and Auto fan, locked the car and remote started it. A/C does not start it just blows air at low speed. I tried to put it all the way Lo and Manual full fan, locked the car and remote started it. A/C does not start it just blows air at low speed. Not sure if this is expected. Anyone else experiencing this?

I read in other forums that the A/C is set to maintain 70 degrees so depending on the outside temp it will cool or heat to maintain 70.

Can't answer that as my car came w/remote start, and I keep mine on Auto Climate Control. I can say that when I do remote start it depending on the weather it will cool off/heat up as needed. How long are you waiting before you enter the car to check? Maybe the system doesn't have enough time to determine what is needed to get to desired temperature. I usually remote start mine 5+ minutes before I'm going to enter it. I will also add that my seats will warm/cool (depending on which setting I had them on), and my heated steering wheel will come on.

Wow. This is the first I'm hearing or seeing of this. Does the hack work on any push button started vehicle?
That would have to be verified by the particular car you are trying to do it on. My belief is the reason this is working on the Accords is the cars already have the "settings" to accomplish configured electronically and just need the remote key fob and programming thru the car's computer.

I would think if the car was set in Auto Climate Control the car would attempt to achieve whatever degree setting the car is set too.

Thank you. I have a 2018 Toyota Tundra Platinum that I was going to try it on. I'll dig a little and see if any hacks apply to the truck.

I am going to do some more rounds of testing. Will post an update.
Sounds good... good luck.

Would add that depending on the ambient temperature it may be causing the fan only to come on and you not feeling much AC. Where I am we have experienced cooler days (thank goodness as we went thru record setting amount of days of 90+ temps) and if I would remote start my car currently it probably wouldn't full blast AC to cool the car off if the AC came on at all.
