Honda Sensing - Blind Spot Information System error after window tinting installed

FYI - 2018 Accord EX L with Honda Sensing

I had window tint installed at a shop and afterwards when starting the car to leave, I got an error within the tachometer area that said:

Blind Spot Information
System Problem.
See Your Dealer.

The tint installer said he never saw that error before so check with the dealer.

I did a Google search and found on a CR-V forum that some people had the same error/issue.
One person contacted the dealer who informed them it should go away after a few days.

Apparently some water from the tint installation gets inside the door and gets a contact or something wet that causes the error.
I had the car sitting in the garage to let the tint cure, and when checking the next day the error message was gone and did not come back.

Putting an FYI post here in case someone else encounters this error after getting tint installed.

Thank you for your post it Help a lot. I had the same issue after having tints installed in my 2018 accord. Right after the installation I turned the car on then It showed the same issues and errors. At 1st I panicked but once I saw this post and waited a day the error went away.

same here

We finally bought a car after 15 years, 2019 Accord Sport 2.0T, we too had the blind spot system error after getting the windows tinted. After a day or so the error went away and the system works as it should.

Thanks for posting cause we were not too excited about error messages on a car that's only 3 months old.

Today I just tinted my 2018 accord touring left the shop with the same exact issue, I thought the car is lemon, since I bought the car two days ago from a certified pre-owned Honda dealership, with 9k miles on it, but I'll wait till tomorrow to see if it will be ok by then.
the funny thing is I never had this issue with any car I tented before with blind spots, Acura and Honda have funny way in applying technology to their cars
update, system went back to normal in less than 24 hrs not sure though if this issue will occur in the future

My problem didn’t go away and I let the car sit for a weekend, and my issue started months after I tinted my 21 accord.
