I have a 19 Sport 1.5. I will not ever want or need native navigation (I use a windshield mount stand alone) and do not ever plan on paying for a HondaLink subscription, but the car has a GPS receiver that is receiving satellites.

I would assume that at least one of the car's computers is keeping a position log which is something else I do not want.

Does anyone know how this GPS functionality can be disabled?

It's neither a secret nor difficult to figure out how to keep a cellphone from divulging your location.

I looked into this using the "hidden menus" (hold 3 buttons, etc.), and the developer menus (tap version number several times) in the head unit settings. In the hidden menus there is a GPS setting, but it does not allow disabling. In the developer menus there does not appear to be any related option, but you can view satellites. Seems that if this is important to you, you will have to do some "unwiring." Be careful.

Thanks. I may end up having to ID and isolate the GPS antenna input to the head unit as another poster suggested.

Note that if you do disable it, you won't have an accurate time on the car's clock. It's set via the GPS signal.

So is the "clock" merely a display of the GPS time signal? Or is it a real clock that is periodically reset to match the time signal?

I can live with it either way. If it's the former, I have a standalone GPS navigator which displays time as well as a wrist watch. If it's the latter, the time can be reset manually just like any old fashioned clock.

Why do you want or what is your concern of the car's computer (as you mentioned) logging your position?

I use a multi-tiered strategy to maintain as much privacy as possible.

To answer your question directly, where I go and when I do so is neither Honda's business nor the business of anyone who might be able to access that data.
