Does anyone know of a jailbreak for the 2018 Infotainment system that allows you to play youtube videos or movies? I've seen one on youtube but its not an accord or 2018 version.

I have no mechanism for stopping him but if it can operate while the car is in motion it's distracted driving on steroids and no, I wouldn't let anyone do that.
You may want to check your local and state laws before doing this if a hack is available... some localities/states prohibit the operation of DVD's in the front of vehicles when they are in motion... I would think that law would also apply to watching any type of video.

Personally I wouldnt do it. Although I would hack it if it were possible to put WAZE/Google Maps and Pandora on the head unit eliminating the need for Android Auto.
I mean, I would get a little ticked off if someone told me not to circumvent something that I own.

I'm not a big fan of people watching video's while driving either but I would really like to be able to load Google Maps or Waze. I have been following a forum on XDA about rooting the android system. I think that is your best bet right now. There were also rumors about apple partially unlocking CARPLAY to allow some more third party apps.

Unless of course your family is in the car he hits when he is watching a cat video on YouTube.. Then it is your concern.. Isn't it?

Never did he/she mention that they want to use it while driving. What if they are in a parking lot? They can watch something while waiting on a friend or whatever.
There are so many distractions these days. Your phone is one too. Just be smart and drive carefully.
If the “hack” lets you use it while driving well I hope you’re smart enough to not do it.

I’ve been looking for this for a while now. From what I’ve found so far, it seems Honda stepped it up with the OS and the hardware on the accord. There’s a method to gain root access (hack) just about every other 2018 model, but not the accord. There’s an XDM forum where people seem to making slow progress, but nothing is substance yet. And to all those immediately assuming the hack is so that we can watch Videos while driving, and going as far as connecting it with a car accident involving someone’s family, that’s uncalled for. I have a 2 year old and 3 year old that hate road trips longer than 10 minutes and nothing calms them down faster than the hour long loops of children’s videos on YouTube. Giving my phone to them is an option, however, you try telling 2 toddlers to share a 5” video screen across a back seat. Having the option to play the video on a 10” screen that they can both see would be a godsend.

Everyone has their need for a hack. If I could root my headhunt, I wouldn't need android auto and install waze to the unit itself.

Use jailbroken iPhone and install Carbridge. Then you can run all your iPhone apps on 2018 Accord infotainment screen.

Anyone say How to Turn Off the Annoying Acknowledgement Screen about Driving & Using the System , Like I need to OK this 24 Times a Week , Really - How about Once a Month or Every 3 Months ..
It will timeout... no need to hit "ok"... just wait and it goes away. True, we aren't. My guess it's a liability issue... as long as they have this displayed (whether we read it or not) it releases them from any liability of an accident if driver is fooling w/it why vehicle is in motion. Heck... now I'm going to have to read it the next time I'm in the vehicle to see what it actually says. :grin:I'm Like - Where's *** Back Up Camera , as I want to be Gone !
