Wow... that sucks!!! :sad: Sounds like this lens is plastic not glass.... are you familiar with Novus Plastic Polish? Since this lens is probably FUBAR'd anyway you may want to try their product before replacing the lens. If you do decide to try it if it were me doing it I would put painters tape on all the surrounding trim to prevent any of the product getting on it. Don't think the product would/could do damage but to be on the safe side I'd tape everything around it. I got familiar w/this product using it on windshields for my motorcycle. Good luck getting this resolved.
