What’s up, so i have a 2018 accord 2.0t sport in a manual transmission. About 3 months ago i added a K&N typhoon intake which is doing what it’s supposed to do. But recently on hard pulls and when you hear the car sucking up air and making that intake whistle, we’ll it’s fluttering while it does that whistle when originally it was just a steady whistle on pulls. I took the intake apart and searched for any tears or anything loose but nothing. I made sure everything was tight and still the same issue. It doesn’t affect the performance but it’s something new that hasn’t happened before. Any thoughts?

I have the 1.5t but in general, if it's fluttering while you're on the gas that's not good lol. Try reinstalling the stock intake and see if it still has the problem.
Lol that’s what I’m trying to avoid too, I’m gonna have to test it out and see if that does anything. Because it was doing just fine but it’s as soon as i do hard pulls where that intake whistle flutters

I got the same intake except i have the 10AT and I only get the flutter when I’m in a higher gear say 7 or 8 when I floor it (because I’m running a yellow light) I’m thinking it has something to do with the turbo lag plus if there’s too much pressurized air in the turbo system you’ll get that flutter. Whenever I get the flutter it usually last somewhere between 2-4 seconds and then you can feel the boosty boost kick in after that but I’m interested in finding out what the problem is.

Yeah exactly, well at least mine being the 6 speed, it’s whenever i do hard pulls that flutter last like you said 2-4 seconds. It does nothing with performance just that flutter. But the strange thing about it is that it didn’t do that before and now is. Do these intake void manufacture warranty ??

So i put the stock intake back and noticing it’s still doing that flutter. Doesn’t affect the performance but it’s faintly doing that flutter. Lol something is up

@2.sl0w The intake won’t void your warranty, I’ve already talked to one of my buddies that works at a Honda dealer near me mostly the parts that will void warranty would be like a tune, DP/FP, intercooler, aftermarket turbo ect...the only thing about it is if you live in CA like myself it’s not CARB legal, you would just have to worry about emissions but that’s why I still have my stock one sitting in the garage.

Oh okay true, but yeah man i put my stock one back and on hard pulls, when the intake is pulling in air you can still hear that flutter but not as loud as running the K&N. So idk if i should just take it to Honda or what.

As long as you haven’t tuned your car with any tuner because some of them will leave a “foot print” I would take it to Honda and not say anything about the K&N intake and let them find out what’s going on, I have not taken my whip in because of the tune and all the aftermarket parts on it.

Can you you explain this "Flutter" sound? Reason I asked is because I have a 2.0 AT and installed the same intake last night. I already was curious to what the tube the bottom of the air box sits on leads to. Maybe I can post a video and we can compare the sound?

Mybad bro, so yeah the sound came about 3 months after i installed the intake and it was on hard pulls when the intake is pulling in air and makes that whistle sound. Well at that moment instead of a steady whistle it’ll flutter. I would do a sound clip but i already tried it and the phone won’t catch the sound right. But i took it to the dealer and put the stock one back on and they couldn’t find what the issue was. Lol
