The light in the center of the roof comes on when I open the door but the map lights do not. Is there a way to also get them to come on when the doors are open?

I looked through all those settings and didn't find it but planned to do it again today just in case I missed it somehow. I'm beginning to think it just isn't possible darn it.

In my 2.0T Touring there is a door activated position switch immediately to the left of the right side/passenger map light.

I switched it to door (toward the windshield) and it automatically turns both map lights on when I unlock/open the car door.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for... it's on page 221 of the owner's manual... see attached screenshot.

"Interior lights" include both map lights...

That's exactly what I'd like to do but in the base model they don't include that switch. It appears there is no option to have those also come on. I'm going to get an LED upgrade bulb for the roof light and it will make do. Thanks for including the reference.

Just a quick bump to this thread if someone could kindly tell me what the little button between the map lights in LDB415's picture above does I'd appreciate it. Tried looking through my owners manual and through this forum and couldn't find an answer. From what I could tell it doesn't do anything but perhaps I'm secretly launching nuclear missiles somewhere.

If you have the owners manual look at page 222 "Ambient Lights" (I would do a screenshot and post it but I'm on my phone). That button is for the the ambient lights (the two little dots below that button). From the manual "When the parking lights are on, push the ambient light switch to turn the ambient lights on."
