iOS 14 CarPlay issues

Since updating my iphone to ios 14, carplay connectivity is intermittent. I can get it to connect to my 18 Accord Hybrid for a few minutes then it drops. I have to completely remove the setup and setup again to get another few minutes. Has anyone else seen this?

Haven’t updated iOS 14 yet, but I’ve had similar issues in the past with other iOS updates if I switched right away.
Happens every update. Give it a few days and it will correct itself.
using a Apple wire graded for your phone helps tremendously. I also realized for some reason if Bluetooth connects to the car before I plug in CarPlay it acts up. I just shut off my Bluetooth when using CarPlay and noticed no issues finally.
With that said. Just got my wife a palisade and wireless CarPlay is such a huge convenience that I’m pretty upset Honda still doesn’t have a adapter or some update for it for the accord. I’m thinking of selling mine before I hit 40k. I love it but Honda’s holding to many features out for the Acura’s.
On IOS 14 and no issues with my Car Play. I also have a full Audio system build. I would try another "Apple" cable, not a generic.

CHeck this out... it's still in indiegogo but it could be very nice once it's made: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/

I've noticed that when I have the HondaLink app installed it interferes with my Android Auto sometimes... I've since uninstalled the HondaLink app and it's much more reliable. I don't know if anyone else has seen that?

Usually it should revert over to apple Car Play as soon as you plug in your Apple graded wire. I’m in iOS14 and haven’t seen any issues so far.

I have HondaLink installed and using Android Auto w/out any issues.

Huh, I wonder what would be different about my setup... I'm using an S10 and as far as I know I'm doing anything crazy. I mainly mentioned it because it seems to make a difference for me... and it might be something to try with the Apple Car play as well if mkemp1 is using HondaLink as well.

Couldn't begin to explain the difference(s)... I have/use a Samsung Note 10+ (previously Note 8) and have had both HondaLink & Android Auto installed/used since March 2018. Only time I have had an issue w/Android Auto was when Android Auto got embedded into the OS instead of an add on app. This was also about the time I upgraded to a newer phone and it immediately started working again. I'm not one to load up my phone w/apps... not sure if that's the reason for my luck or not.

My only reason for mentioning mine was working w/both is that it may vary on individual(s) phone.

Heh, maybe we'll crowd source a solution on these days :)

If only we could... may be profitable. 😁
I know this thread died off but hopefully this helps the original poster. With my connectivity issues, I've changed a few things:
With these two changes so far I've noticed that it connects faster and more reliably. This is just after a few days of connecting the phone after getting to the home screen. I don't yet know long term, but I've had the cable for a little while now and it made a difference even when trying to connect the phone to car before turning the car on. When it did connect, it would connect faster.

Now, I know I'm going to jinx this whole thing but so far I haven't had the black screen or significant slow downs in Android Auto since connecting the phone after getting to the home screen first.

Granted all of this is with Android Auto, but maybe some of it translates to iOS and Car Play as well.
