I am about to purchase a Ktuner V2.0 and forum searches have shown positive results. However, out of abundance of caution, has anyone
1. Encountered a dealership warranty invalidation?
2. Had any reliability issues with their engine or especially turbo? If so, were you running the Stage 1 or Stage 2 predominately?
Been running Ktuner since I bought the car, about 7k miles with it. I do some data logging every once in a while, and so far so good.
I run Shell 93 octane (or QT 93 Octane if there is no shell).
My K.Con stays bellow 0.53 and usually hovers around 0.48/0.49 which is really good.
I am a spirited driver so I do enjoy getting into boost often, but I also drive 90% highway so its rare that I have the opportunity.
Gas mileage is about the same as stock, I average around 31-32 MPG if I don't gas it, and if I am having fun, rarely get bellow 25-26.
So far no reliability issues. I run 5w30 oil (bobistheoilguy forums are a great place to get advice on this) and have had zero issues with it, actually I have had better results with it because I had some mild fuel dilution on 0w20 (about 1.8% after 2500 miles). I change my oil ever 4-5 thousand and run a catch can as well.
I have no engine mods, only mild suspension and cosmetics, so no performance mods like intakes etc, and I get good results.
I run the Ktuner stage 2.1 dual mode, where Eco is factory boost map, and normal/sport is stage 2 map.
I also have early spool enabled, throttle on aggressive response, turbo aggressive response, and VSC on medium. I recommend playing with these seeing which feels best, I found that they help A LOT and reduce the lag A LOT. Otherwise if you just use stage 2 with none of the features...you will definitely feel the turbo lag.
I did notice that an intercooler upgrade would help a lot more than any other mod, I do run into heat soak after a few hard pulls in the 70F+ weather.
As far as dealer warranty, I keep the ktuner with me in the car and have the factory tune just in case I need to reflash.
