Finally decided to pull the trigger on a new 2.0T Sport for the wife. We’ve only had it a week. I love the car except for one little thing. Just took it on a road trip and in the middle of the interstate at night was a darn corn laying on its side. Tried my best to dodge it while doing 85 mph but I still clipped it. I’m so hurt.

Welcome to the forum glad to have you here... sorry to hear/read about your incident. I'm a little confused though... your post says there was "corn" in the road. Is that a typo?

lol. It was supposed to be cone. Sorry!
Ok, thanks. Thought it was a typo but wanted to make sure. If it had been corn my next question was where corn grew big/hard enough to do the damage I noticed on your car. Good luck on promptly getting your car repaired to your satisfaction.

I’m trying to figure out if I should file a claim or not. The OEM bumper cover painted is $720. There are videos on YouTube on how to remove it. The fog light is $250.

If you're comfortable w/working on the car it's not that bad of a job as long as you have the right tools. You will need some plastic pry tools, snap/fastener pullers, and a extra set of hands (to be on the safe side) to help remove/install it. There are some instructions & videos on this site of removing the front bumper/grill that may help too.

Installing Optional Front Grille

Start at about 4:55 in this video to see how to remove bumper...
