Oil Change-Panel removal
I will be performing my first oil change on my 2018 Accord. Is it necessary to remove the panel that is adjacent to the oil pan plug in order to remove the plug. Thank you.

Thanks for the info. I do have the 1.5 and will be sure to check out the drain plug location and not just remove the panel.You didn't mention which engine you have, but I can tell you for certain that the 1.5 doesn't require the panel removal. The drain plug on the 1.5 has zero interference from that panel. Not even close in the 1.5.
Thanks garebear for the valuable information.you actually dont need to remove the panel. the manual says you do but it will drain without making a mess. you might get a small spillage on the shield but you can wipe it off easily.
