I read in the manual that we're not supposed to use reflective sun shades because they could "concentrate the light". It took me a few minutes just to understand what they were talking about.

Then I saw it, yeah, OK, there's this big black box full of radar and stuff on the windshield. They're worried that if you stand up a reflective sun shade underneath it, it will concentrate heat on the electronics.

So now I'm wondering whether we should even bother with a sun shade.....I can't imagine a car baking in the sun is that good for the electronics, either.

I did not even look at the manual. I too got the Weather Tech shade recently. It's a little bulky to roll up, but does fit nicely. I can't see it messing anything up.
