Remote start is not working

It was -18 here this morning. Remote start failed. IT start and stop. I am sure that it is a timing issue with the Hybrid. Because it is cold, it did not start as fast as usual so the software determine that it did not start. I don't thinks that the dealer will be able to fix this.

Called the dealer. They try another hybrid at the dealer. Same exact problem. The engine start then stop. This morning it was ok. This morning was warmer. It was -15. Yesterday was -18. If it is colder than -15 the remote start does not work.
Wait - So you're saying the dealership told you the remote starter fails to work at -18 and over?

That's what remote starters are for.. Cold mornings so you can turn on your car and have a warm ride to wherever your destination is...

If that is the case, I am going to be so pissed lol.. I haven't had it come to -18 yet here but If it does and it doesn't turn on.. That is not acceptable.
I know. Below -15 it start and stop. The dealer was supposed to communicate with Honda Canada. All the hybrid are doing the same thing. I don't think that I will see an update for this winter:( This car is full of software bugs. My radio is rebooting often. The temperature control bug. The stupid beep on red lights when there is nobody around the car.
same with mine , being in Sutton Quebec I have -24 a couple of time , it start and stop , , if I go in it start well if the engine is a bit warm it start with the remote, my dealer told me it was because I did connect the block heater , I try with out the block heater connect over nite same issue stop and start..this is not normal even the heated seat dont come on as it should when remote is used.
We need to challenge Honda it look like the software is confuse with cold battery and col weather.
Sounds like they didn't do adequate testing in more extreme temps. What's the point of a remote start that only works on warmer days. Ridiculous that even the dealer acknowledges this is working as designed.
We had -8f temps in Northern Minnesota this weekend and my car didn't start using the remote start feature, however when I started it manually it didn't hesitate in the slightest so it must not have even tried to start remotely. This is the first time it hasn't started remotely although it usually doesn't get that cold where we live.
Just wondering and attempting the "think out the box"... have any of you that are experiencing this issue and have the ability to start your car via the HondaLink app tried using it vs the key fob?

Good thought, however I was using the Honda Link app this weekend to try to start it. I have given up trying to use the key fob as often it can't start it when the car is in view it seems to have a very short starting range. I renewed my Honda Link remote subscription so I could start it in the ramp at work each night on my way out, so I use it elusively now when I want to remotely start the car.

Ok, I was thinking it might be a transmission/reception issue due to cold weather. However you say you have been using the app, but you say you were trying this "in the ramp"… still may be insignificant but is this "ramp" inside (enclosed). I'm not familiar as to how the HondaLink app is working but I was thinking it was via satellite.... if so if this ramp you speak of doesn't have a clear view of the satellite (much like XM cuts out when being blocked) the app may be inoperable also. If this truly is a weather related issue (not working in extreme cold) that's really sad as most would prefer to warm their car up in extreme cold vs cooling it off in extreme heat.

This weekend when it didn't work the car was parked outside in a hotel parking lot, and when I pressed start in the app it asked for my pin and went back to the main screen like it started the car, I didn't refresh the screen and wait for it to read weather it actually started or not though. In the ramp at work I've had it fail to start 2 times when I was parked on the inside ring however it told me that it failed those times before going back to the main screen, now I usually park on the outer ring to improve the reception and haven't had a problem.

I have the same problem here in Montreal. Not related to block heater. This is a software bug.
Just to test the remote I did the start 3 ft away from the car and still no start below-15 , try with my second remote same result.
I wrote to Honda about it , in a sense they are selling a remote but it does not work the publicity is wrong..seriously I do need a remote to work at all weather.

I don't think that this will be fixed this year. Lallier is aware of this problem. They reproduce it in an hybrid from the dealer. They were supposed to call honda canada. No news since then. Maybe you should call Lallier also about to complaint?
Going to the dealer next thursday , I told them about my complaint to Honda Canada , they need to go to the technical dealer web page to log the problem, I will let you know the result next friday , my dealer is in cowansville Quebec.
Here's a video I took of mine failing to start this week.

Exactly the same thing. How cold it is in your garage?
I don't know if I am crazy but it seems that it does not start on impair temp values. Sometime it start at -22. It never start at -17
good video I will use it when I go to the dealer if you dont mind.
