Replacement Grill

I’ve had my ‘19 Sport in MSM for a little over a month now; and while I love the blackened chrome and how it looks with my color WHEN ITS COMPLETELY CLEAN, I can’t stand how it attracts water spots and bugs, and looks like it’s burned when you catch one. I’ve been browsing the forums, this one especially, for options to fix this.

Most people I’ve seen have just done a black plastic grill cover off EBay; something I’m not interested in. It looks good but stick ons allow dirt and debris to be trapped under them and with no way to remove and clean and reapply easily, not an option.

I’ve gotten quotes to vinyl wrap in gloss black and most are more than I’m willing to spend for something I could do myself.

And the only replacement grilles I’ve seen are the optional “sport” grill with a chrome or blackened chrome accent. I’m wondering: does anyone know if these grilles can be used without the accent and what they look like? I haven’t been able to find any pictures depicting this. So if you’re in the same boat as me, or have anything to help me out I’d appreciate it.

I agree. I want the whole front the piano black color. Ideas guys?
Decided I’m going to wrap the grill. Ordering a 5’x1’ sheet of Avery Dennison in gloss black on Friday along with the tucking tools and squeegee. I’ll post pics once complete.
Just finished wrapping the grill. If anyone cares here are before and after pics
looks great, well done. Where did you order the vinyl from? How hard was this to do?

I ordered the vinyl from Amazon. Just got a 5’ x 1’ sheet of gloss black Avery Dennison.

As for difficulty, I would say moderate. It was my first time wrapping anything, so it could have been better, but I’m happy with the results. There are some rubber seals on top of the “eyebrows” that are kind of hard to tuck the vinyl into; but other than that it’s not any harder than wrapping anything else. I did mine with the grill and bumper mounted, but I would suggest taking it off and removing the front emblem to make it easier in the long run.
