Hi all, New member here. Recently retired from the SF Bay area to Rio Vista, CA, 50 miles North of San Francisco in the Delta. Bought a 2018 Accord 2.0T Touring yesterday. Nice car and it is quick and lots of goodies ! Finally sold my 02 BMW 745LI. Could not hang with the "unusual repair expenses" any longer. 16 years old but looks and operated great. 2 days into the new Accord. Not the BMW but quite a nice car for the $.

I want to open/contribute to threads about Apple Car play. Seems Honda got it about 80% correct but is a bit confusing with their system and then adding Apple Car Play to it. Might just decide to stay with their nav and other music offerings and no longer invoke Apple Car Play. Was hoping the Apple Car Play was great but it seems it is not in this car. Honda has not decided to invoke full Bluetooth music movement to the car without keeping it plugged into the USB? Hope they are working on this !!!! Sort of silly they offered the plugless charging but the phone can't communicate with the system from this??? Lots to learn....

Anyway, see you around the forums. Interested in things I can add to my new ride to make it special.

I'm an old guy to that also traded in my BMW due to maintenance/repair costs. Fortunately I escaped California several years ago! lol. Everything works perfectly for me and my iPhone. When I connect the phone to the front console USB, I get accurate (w/traffic) Iphone maps onscreen. If I receive a phonecall, the call comes thru crystal clear.

If I want to listen to the itunes from the phone via BT, It cannot be connected with a USB cable. If I receive a phonecall, while listening to my tunes, they mute and the phonecall takes president.
My Iphone is a 6 running IOS 9.x.x firmware.

Congrats on the new Accord and welcome to the community! Performance mods are still pretty limited at the moment, but there are plenty of accessories already available. And call me old fashioned but I've always preferred to control my music with an aux port.

Hello,
Glad I am not the only retiree. Retired Public/School Librarian by profession. I am nearly 60 years old and kept dreaming about owning a Honda Accord as an upgrade. I kept thinking it would be a great 62-year-old present to myself in two years. Well, decided not to wait and by the time I become officially 62, I will be half-way owning my title. So far enjoying my Radiant Red Honda Accord LX very much.

Joining the "Honda Accord Retiree Group" here. I was a Saab guy until GM ran them into the ground. . . Been a Nissan guy for nearly 12 years after that. Nice vehicles but horrible CVT transmissions. Sold the Altima 3.5 and the Murano for two new '18 Accord Touring Hybrids. . . way "too sensible." But the spouse and I just LOVE our new Honda's, the great gas mileage, having a real full-sized trunk, and 0-60 in about 6.7 seconds.
