Sending in cams to Crower for regrinds

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of working with Crower Cams on regrinding a set of cams for the 2.0t. I purchased a new set of cams from Honda and had them shipped them to Crower.

I told them that I want a set of cams that will work with stock heads/valve train set up so I won’t need to upgrade the springs or anything - but it should also not be too small.

Hopefully after this is set and done Crower will have a cam card made for this and that way anyone-else who wants to order a set will just have to tell them the cam card # when ordering a set to have them reground.

As for performance gains it’s hard to say but it would definitely go best with an upgraded turbo which is what I’m currently looking at (RV6 or PRL P700).
I’ll keep you all posted.

Any reason why you didn't just use the 4 Piston Racing drop in cams? 4P TR2 Drop-In Camshafts - K20C1 Type R

I have researched that option and found that the K20C1 cams won’t fit into the Accords K20C4. Can anyone confirm this or not?
Edit:

This question was answered on the Type R forum and it looks like it’s not worth the trouble of getting the cams to work. Here is the response form the forum:

“cannot use type r cams, (c1 vacuum pump is on exhaust cam, c4 has no vacuum pump, c1 hpfp cam is in intake cam, c4 is exhuast, may use head if you can calibrate/repin sensors/connectors) head cover, head gasket, timing chain”

I would recommend simply contacting 4P racing for validation. Not saying the info from the Type R forum is wrong, but when I look at the images of a K20C1 and K20C4 exhaust cam (VTEC), both appear to have the HPFP extension on them (longer). Still may not work, but I think the HPFP is driven off the exhaust cam in both motors.

Thanks. I will get in contact with them and let you know what they say. If they fit I will just get those since billet cams will have a longer life than simple regrinds.
