I have a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 & I’ve noticed while driving that my car never changes gears until I gradually let my foot off the gas. Ive had older model Honda’s but never experienced this issue.. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Are you the original owner & did this just start happening? If I remember correctly the '18 1.5 came with CVT transmissions. How many miles on your car and has the routine maintenance been done when needed (specifically the transmission fluid changed)?

Thanks for responding. Im the 2nd owner, I just started to notice it, really never paid attention I guess until recently, traveling out of state is what made me notice it. 37k miles currently, yes all maintenance is up to date. It doesn’t make any noise or shake or anything but I just feel like it’s a little weird.

You didn't confirm if it was the CVT transmission and I'm not familiar w/them but it may be a nuance of that particular transmission.

Definitely a cvt. sounds like the rpms aren't coming down as anticipated? it doesn't really have distinct gears the way your classic automatic does. Could possibly be a band issue internally. Have the fluid levels and quality checked before anything.
