Thanks for the info... just updated mine... was a lot quicker than documentation stated it would take (time most likely will vary depending on your internet speed).

Will be interesting if this actually solves the problem of system resetting while driving for those that have posted about this happening a lot w/their cars. 🙏

If you have tried forgetting your phone and repairing it and still have this problem I posted in your bluetooth thread how to do the factory reset.

It's not my phone I have a 2014 Explorer every time bluetooth conects instantly plus I have a headsets Bluetooth and everything else works fine . Except the Honda
That's why I suggested the factory reset. It's like rebooting the system... maybe it's a glitch that a reset/reboot would correct. Other than the pain of having to reenter some of your personal settings it can't hurt anything.

Today I did a factory reset on a Honda system. The results have not been positive . Sometime times bluetooth connects okay. Other times not so good.
Was searching for information for another thread and found this video...

I would think the factory reset you already did was the same (or better) but this one looks like it doesn't delete settings… at least the person posting didn't mention it would.

I can try it but it seems to reboot itself almost every day. Today when I pulled out of the garage and honda couldn't find the Bluetooth it kept searching after a few minutes the system rebooted itself seems to be a faster reboot then previous times. After the quick reboot it immediately found the phone and all was good, also I have a 2019 EXL so mine is push-button no shifter but I will give it a try. And thanks for all your help it's been much appreciated

Hmmm. I haven’t had a reboot happen for a while, but I have been having tons of CarPlay disconnects happening. I was wondering if my cable had gone bad, but now that I think about it it never loses connection when I just have it plugged into a USB charger adapter vs. the dash USB port.

Sometimes you have to:
  1. Un-pair the phone on the car;
  2. Un-pair the car on the phone;
  3. Power off the phone and pull the battery for about 10-20 seconds;
  4. Power up the phone and pair the phone back to the car.
  5. Make sure you do both #1 and #2.
Also, if your phone is Bluetooth connected to another device when you start the car, it may not connect until the other device has dropped the connection. This happens to me at times because my phone is paired to my Bluetooth house phone, and the car and house phones are in range of each other. Once I'm out of range of my house phones, then the phone connects to the car.
