It makes sense (at least in my mind 😁) to allow the system to go thru its start up process before asking it to connect a device.
It makes sense (at least in my mind 😁) to allow the system to go thru its start up process before asking it to connect a device.Update: I just spoke to Honda Tech Support over the phone, and the rep did suggest waiting for the infotainment system to fully boot up in order to get a successful connection first.
Yeah, it does. lol.It makes sense (at least in my mind 😁) to allow the system to go thru its start up process before asking it to connect a device.
Lately I find that if I schedule my phone to restart in the middle of the night on weekdays before I go to work and I plug the phone in before I start the car, I tend to get the most reliable results for me. Not that it's perfect by any means, there are times, maybe once a week, when it still doesn't want to connect properly and I'll have to disconnect for 10 seconds or so before trying again. This is even after the latest system update.
LOL!!!! We can be our own worst enemy when it comes to relating everyday tasks to our professional field.Especially since I work in Network infrastructure, I should definitely be well aware of this as well.

Wow, that's great to know!I have my phone scheduled to restart once a week.... found out that doing that eliminated/prevented a lot of software/app issues.
One other thing I try to do on a daily basis is (swipe) close all apps running in the background. Most smart phones can be set to restart automatically and I have mine set to do it in the middle of the night.Wow, that's great to know!
See now, I'm an Android master lol, and I've never rebooted my phone once a week or anything like that. I let most of my apps running in RAM Android is efficient as an operating system. But as far as letting the infotainment system start up first completely before plug my phone in, that's something I'll have to force myself to do some more so in the future. I've owned/used Android's since it was available and some of the things I do are from trial/error/learning from the earlier days of the OS. Along w/what I previously mentioned I have a device care app that checks my phone weekly and lets me know when I have apps using a lot of memory. I then can go to to those apps and clear the cache (yes I'm either old school or anal... probably both😁).See now, I'm an Android master lol, and I've never rebooted my phone once a week or anything like that. oh yeah I hear you dude! I agree with you completely. Usually I reboot my phone once a week or so. 🥸😎I've owned/used Android's since it was available and some of the things I do are from trial/error/learning from the earlier days of the OS. I updated but don’t have any of those issues...lmao. The issues I have using CarPlay is effed up playback behavior using Amazon Music, and somewhat spotty Waze performance, eg, Waze starts up but no map shows up, just the other parts of the UI. im driving so little now WTF knows if it’s fixed...I put 3K miles over the past year....9K miles for a car only 17 months old...This thread will be for notification and discussion of system updates for our car...
Software Version - 18AA-2148-001 April 27, 2021
This software contains updates to correct the following potential intermittent errors:
• System reboot occurs after a phone call.
• iPhone device is recognized as USB-Audio, but CarPlay does not launch.
• HondaLink phone connection status shows as “DISCONNECTED”, while phone device is paired via Bluetooth.
• Cover Art does not display during Bluetooth Audio playback on iOS13 and later iPhone OS.
• Rear Camera Dynamic Guideline settings are hidden after USB software update.
• Android Auto does not work after repeated USB connections.
• The OTA update screen freezes once the update reaches 100%.
• System reboot occurs after transitioning to a rear camera screen (shift to Reverse), or any time during ACC ON.
• “Unfortunately, Camera has Stopped” popup message appears.
I've had that happen to me after an update to Waze... what I've found out to avoid that is whenever Waze is updated I start it on my phone soon after then when I connect to car (Android Auto) Waze will work as it should. For some reason Waze doesn't like starting up the first time connected to our car's after an update and starting it prior to has worked for me.eg, Waze starts up but no map shows up, just the other parts of the UI.
Park somewhere where you can get reliable WiFi that doesn't need you to log in (like close to your house). Make sure your system is connected to your WiFi.So dumb question. For the last month or two my Accord's display has been saying there's a software update but I haven't figured out how to actually update the software. In this thread it looks like there's a file to download? Never done that for an iphone. So how do I install this update?
thanks, I'll try that today, much appreciated.Park somewhere where you can get reliable WiFi that doesn't need you to log in (like close to your house). Make sure your system is connected to your WiFi.
Then press the "Update" button on the main menu (on my car, it's on the second screen - press the scroll-right button to see the second screen).
Then let it do its thing.
