Good afternoon fellow car enthusiasts,

Welcome to my build thread! Mods I wasn't sure were to post this thread, so feel free to move it to the appropriate section if need be. So I purchased my 2018 Still Night Blue 2.0T Accord Sport (10spd) last week and I've been enjoying the car very much so far. I typically start with performance mods first, however I'm switching it up a little bit on the Accord. My goals with the Accord is to convert it to a "gentlemen's Type R" so to speak by using mostly genuine Honda parts and accessories;

Ok, so starting with mostly cosmetic pieces, I just received in the Civic Type R engine cover today
Qty: 1 Part# 12500-5BF-A01 (Engine Cover)
Qty: 4 Part# 90014-R40-A00 (Bolts)

Next, the Civic Type R wheel center caps
Qty: 1 Part# 44732-TGH-A01 (Set of 4)

- I also ordered the Red JDM front & rear emblems...should be getting those in later this week.
- The Accord goes in for tint tomorrow morning and I'll post some pictures once I get it back.
- October 1st, it goes in for paint correction and Ceramic Pro+
- I will NOT badge the vehicle as a Type R, but I will be debadging the rear of the vehicle and placing a single Honda Factory Performance (HFP) emblem
- After the cosmetic items are taken care of, I'll be going Hondata tune, PRL downpipe and lowering springs (manufacturer to be decided) shortly after.

STAY TUNED!!!

Civic Type R engine cover installed

- Pull the stock engine cover off of the valve cover
- Remove the (4) silver grommet peg bolts
- Remove the plastic piece that covers the coil packs
- Line up the new engine cover and secure in place using the (4) black 90014-R40-A00 bolts

Mod one complete...

44732-TGH-A01 turns up both silver and red caps. Any way to ensure you get the reds? I am liking this thread! Going for the first 2!!
I can not guarantee it yet. I should be receiving the majority of the cosmetic items by the end of this week and then I'll confirm.

I'll have another update to this thread tonight.

Got the Accord tinted today...went with 35% all around.

Also purchased this VTEC TURBO decal which is specific to the Canadian market Civic Type R. I'll be placing this decal at the center base of the rear wind shield.

Part# 75717-TGH-C01 (expect to pay at least $38.00 for this decal...apparently it's hard to come by).

Loving this thread! When are you going to install your red H Emblems? Could you let us know the steps to remove the stock H's?
Thanks! Much of these items are on order and I'm awaiting delivery. Should have the majority of the items by this weekend.

I'm waiting on;
- The OEM Type R wheel center caps
- The JDM red emblems
- VTEC TURBO decal
- HFP emblem

I'll post "how to" instructions and pics once I receive everything. Probably going to order the Hondata Flashpro soon as well.

There isn't much that goes into the install.

- Pull the stock engine cover off of the valve cover
- Remove the (4) silver grommet peg bolts
- Remove the plastic piece that covers the coil packs
- Line up the new engine cover and secure in place using the (4) black 90014-R40-A00 bolts

Install time = 5-10 minutes

Little update...Received in my Red Type R wheel center caps. I'll install them and report back later this evening.

Also received in the Canadian "VTEC TURBO" decal. This will also be installed later today.

The decal appears black in the picture, but it's actually more of a silver.

- Still waiting on my front and rear JDM emblems.
- Should have my HFP badge by Saturday...After that, the build will kick into overdrive.
- Looks like H&R released new lowering spring kits for the 2018 Accord

Well the Red Type R center caps are slightly too large for the Accord sport wheel and do not fit....shitty. Option #2, will the stock Type R 20" wheels bolt onto the Accord?

I did adhere the VTEC TURBO decal to the rear windshield :plain:....

Stopped in at King Motorsports/// this afternoon to get a quote on a custom dyno-tune as well as some lowering springs. They had this tiny little right hand drive Japanese Honda Beat Type R in the showroom...I'm almost positive I could've tipped this car over on it's side by myself.

It's a shitty picture...
