I recently picked up a 2022 Touring and thought "Great.. this vehicle has TSR and it can display it on the HUD which is a great feature." But boy, am I disappointed. What good is TSR if the only sign it recognizes is the speed limit. Even then, it is often inaccurate. On few occasions, it has read "35" as "85" and "55" as "65".

It would be nice if it could read traffic lights, stop/yield signs or even "traffic light/stop sign ahead" street signs and display it on the HUD. Displaying only the speed limit sounds like a nice to have but not a safety feature. It seems like the thought behind TSR was great but the execution of it is horrible.

Unfortunately, Honda didn't accurately name this feature.... In my experience it has only showed speed limit(s) and like you I have had it to provide the incorrect information at times.

Since I bough my Accord from North America to Europe is useless to me too. Here the speed limit signs are in circle shape, not square one, and the accord doesn't read them. Weirdly it has some places nearby home, when he's seeing something and each time notifies me that I had speed limit (like 80 miles... in my neighborhood).

I have also Japanese 2019 HR-V made for the European market and he's doing good job by reading the speed limit signs. Besides, it reads also "no overtaking" sign and it's oposite one, when all restrictions are valid no more.

I don't think that reading stop/yeild would be usefull, cause it's one time valid sign. It has no continuous restriction for a certain part of the road as the speed limit and no overtaking have.

This is a net picture of EUDM CR-V:

Unlike it, the HR-V display is in monochrome, but it does pretty much the same.

That is useful however I respectfully disagree. Even though the "stop ahead" or "traffic light ahead" sign is only temporary, it still alerts the driver of an important situation coming up ahead and because the camera is mounted higher than the driver, there is a higher chance the car will see the sign before the driver especially if it's around a bend or over a hill. This is a great opportunity missed by Honda just so they could sell it as a safety feature.

Is anyone aware of what is responsible for the speed sign recognition? Where is the software for sign recognition?

If e.g. in Europe the camera is changed to would then the signs be recognized?

I've been thinking about this too. If the recognition itself is made in the camera or the ECU. One thing is for sure - if you replace the camera, you'll have to install the radar from the same car too. With no clear result. And all just to have the speed limit on your display, when Waze could do pretty much the same for you.

Are you sure about the need for radar replacement if the camera is replaced?
True that on waze info is there - I do use waze but my wife doesn't. In general it is not a must however if it is an easy fix (after digging into it and figuring out) as changing the cam then why not.
