Transmission Jerks 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T EX-L

I purchased a CPO Accord 2018 EX-L 2.0T a few months. The car has now done 27k miles in total.

I'm experiencing very rough shifts and hard jerks between the 2nd and the 3rd gear. It doesn't happen all the time. But when it does, there is a horrible jerk and the car up shifts almost lurching forward. It seems similar to what a manual car would do, if you release the clutch too rapidly while shifting gears.

It's hard to reproduce the issue and it just seems to happen at random. One way to avoid it is to really press hard on the gas pedal. Being a little gentle on the gas especially in a high traffic situation seems to cause this pretty often. One time I was so surprised that I almost hit the car in front of me.

Anyway, I went to the dealership. Of course I wasn't able to reproduce the issue when going for a test drive with the technician. They looked at the car for a couple of hours, and then just said there is nothing wrong. As fate would have it, when I drove the car back - I again experienced the jerk. And it happens pretty regularly at least 1-2 times a day. There is no pattern to it, it's just totally random. (pressing the gas pedal hard and revving the engine does seem to help, but I don't drive that way).

Anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this? Is the transmission faulty or will this damage the transmission if it continues to happen? The dealer says it's normal operation.
Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this thread - Transmission Failure 29k 2019 Sport 2.0... sounds similar to your situation. See if they can/will send the diagnostics to the Honda Tech Line as mentioned in that thread. If they aren't interested in doing that contact Honda Customer Service directly to open a claim...

Thank you for the prompt response.
Makes sense. I will try to ask them to send diagnostic logs to Honda Tech line.
So far the dealership hasn't been very cooperative even though I got the CPO car from them.
Will do that and report back.
See if you could have a dash cam fixed with audio on. If that happens again, may be you can bring that as an evidence
That's a good point. I'll try it out.
