So here's my story. I have a 2018 2.0 Auto. (25k miles) I got the Ktunerv2 from a member earlier this week. Flashed the car to the stage 2 dual tune. Drove around 400 miles with this tune. No problems,.
Then today the crazy thing happened. I was driving home from work and decided to pass a slower car. So I went from eco into sport mode and passed the car. Was going about 75mph. I notice the car did not shift. When I pressed the gas pedal, it down shifted as expected and took off maybe shifted once and went all the way to around 5600k rims. I let off the gas and used the paddle shifters to shift, went through all the gears just fine. So, I drove about another 5 miles, hit the exit ramp and all of a sudden lose all power while waiting at a red-light. Car shifts its self into park. I try to restart the car but the engine won't turnover. I had no CEls pop up and no errors show in the ktuner log either. I dont know if it was the tune that caused this, if my transmission messed up, or if my fuel pump just kicked the bucket. I flashed it back to factory,(not that it will matter) and got it towed back to the dealer.
Anyone want to offer their thoughts on what the issue could be?.
Dealer ship called the other day. The turbo malfunctioned, and peices of the turbine broke off in the intake. Highly doubt their going to fix it. Their waiting on word from Honda. Seen a post about a turbo malfunction before from a user that didn't even tune his car. And he was told they were not repairing the turbo. Fingers crossed.

There would need to be Something Wrong with Turbo ,
Even If Tune Held Waste Gate so it didn't Open as much - sure seems ~ Story is Bit Off ~ Lets say it went to
26 PSI - that may have spun Turbo extra 12000 Rpm so it Hit 130,000 Rpm instead of 118,000 that should Not Blow Up Turbo ..
These Tunes - should No Way in **** be Blowing up Motors Or Turbo's
U Guys Better start Paint marking Hidden Dab of Paint & Scratching Parts to make sure Those are Your Parts . .
Means Inducer Blade Blew Up - with Only 2 X Engineering in Play CHRA should be able to do 160,000 Rpm - just Seems Odd !
Shock Waves coming from Electronic waste-gate ? Still seems something a Mist - Poor Turbo Impellers ?
** I have all Pieces Collected - Take these Pieces of Turbo & What's Left of Inducer Blade : To ~ Machine House for 50x Inspection -
Look for Porosity Inside Turbo Compressor's Inducer Blade **

I can only tell you as much as I know. The dealership was the ones that said the turbo malfunctioned. When the incident took place. The car was whisper quiet like usual. Nothing sounded abnormal.
Maybe I just had a bad turbo?. I'm thinking whatever caused this to happen was going to happen, regardless of the tune or whether the car was left stock.
Yea, that call was great news. The dealer mechanic thinks that turbo was faulty to begin with. He said he's seen issues with the accord but first time seeing a turbo problem with the platform.
Sorry. He didn't say what they were. Also Correction to my last statement, he said some "minor" issues. I should have asked what they were though. Thats my fault.
Most dealerships should fix it unless it's a continuous problem. Really they get paid to do warranty work so why they would deny claims like that is beyond me. VW/Audi had a bunch of KO3 go bad like this in late 90's bad batch or something but the engine was used so much they had problems for couple model years because they had so many of those engines in so many models.
I agree. I really didn't think they were going to fix especially after flashing the ecu. But I guess they never checked, or did but didn't care. I've only seen one other person with this problem and that individual posted about his experience a few months ago. Unfortunately Honda didn't cover his car. And the crazy part was( according to him) not tuned.
They ended up replacing the turbo assembly, inlet and outlet hoses, gaskets, intercooler, spark plugs and catalytic converter.
I am curious if any of the members have been running a base tune from Ktuner and for how long.
