I have been to 5 audio shops and all give me way diff ideas and pricing. The factory 10 speaker system is absolute trash. I was wanting to replace the speaker components front and back and add an amp and sub but have reservations. I've done alot of research and I am confused about the center channel and what and how to add to this system without breaking the bank or features of the car. As gps and other vocals come from the center. I bought a Rockford Fosgate p300-12 but its just sitting in the box as now I'm told a kicker l7s in a ported box would be a better choice. So many opinions and not enough experience to help. Please advise me on this if you can. Budget is 1-2k

Mine is the sport model so I only have the 8-speaker system but for what it's worth I replaced all my speakers except for the tweeters with the Infinity Reference speakers. Massive improvement even with the stock amplifier. I also have the same P300-12 subwoofer. I'm pretty happy with it as well.

I will say this, I installed it all myself and only got the P300-12 for the ease of installation. If I was taking it to a professional, I would go with a component sub and a custom box and amp. It will be a bit more expensive, but you would get better results. The P300-12 sounds great for the price, but I wish I had something more powerful.

was just quoted 5k to do sound deadening, all 5 speakers, ported 12 sub and 2 amps installed. does this sound right?
shop around for sure. you'd be surprised at the price range from shop to shop. id be calling everyone from bestbuy to the local audio shops in your area. a few minute phone call could save you thousands

I have a 2019 Honda accord ex with the 8 speaker sound system and I upgraded my front and rear speakers to JBL and the front tweeters to Rocksford Fotage. I also have some amazon Belvia Subs hat absolutely kick. I think in total i speant 600-700$ on my system and it runs circles around the stock factory one!

The 10ch system has actual 10 channels. Meaning every speaker in the system has its own frequency bandwidth it plays and its own seperate amp channel. Mids play midrange/midbass, tweeters play highs, sub plays bass.

In order to get a full range signal to run to an amp you'll need to be able to sum these channels together. Then the factory amp does all kinds of EQing to try and make the Sh!tty speakers sound good. And does a terrible job at it. So you also need to be able to de-EQ that signal. You can't do any of that withought the use of a DSP. The 8 ch system does not have this. They get a full range signal to the mids in the doors then have a cap for the tweeters. Easy.... 10ch system is not. It can definitely be done though. An other route will be the use of the amp bypass axxess kit.

Use this to eliminate the terrible amp and run signal directly to your amps.

5k is not bad if they actually know what they are doing. I've probably spent around 20k all together in my sound system.

But 5k is alot if your going to end up with some basic components ran passively with an LC7i and a mediocre sub.

Educate your self before throwing money at anything.

Hey “ItsOnly”, I found some good info in your post—thanks! But I have a question. I’m actually not terribly displeased with the mids and the highs of the factory system (2019 2.0T Sport). But the absence of bass killed me, and my only mod so far is tossing in a 12-inch powered sub in a good-sized enclosure in the trunk. Which helped, but isn’t giving me the extended low-end that I’m looking for. I don’t need loud, but I really value deep, accurate (not boomy) low bass. I have a feeling that the electronics are not letting the lowest notes come through to the sub. How much should I expect to pay for the installation of the signal processor that you listed? And is it likely to solve my problem and get better quality low-end signal to my sub?

The factory head unit has a HPF (high pass filter) in the 30s to protect its speakers from low frequencies. I have yet to get the axxess kit. But it's in my to do list. I used a Helix DSP and did it the hard way. That still didn't fix the the low end. That axxess kit will get you HPF down to 20hz with a 12db slope which is great.

Here's the responce in my Accord.

The green is my rear subs. The red is my front sub, blue is both playing together

See how the low end drops off that's the factory head unit HPF. Then the top end drop off at 50hz that's the acoustical response of our cars. You won't get much bass above 50hz from the trunk. That's why I run a front sub also.

Here's the responce with me bypassing the factory system signal and using my DAC straight into the DSP.

Look at how much low end you loose from using the factory signal. My subs play flat down to 20hz then start to gradually drop. Compare it to the factory signal. It's mind blowing and upsetting 😡

That axxess kit will get your signal down to 20hz. Which is a good thing. Most average subs won't play that low.

Here's my system playing together from the factory signal. I like alot of bass and I run a ton of power to compensate the factory signal. But with that axxess pice will get me where I want. As soon as I get it. So you should learn from my mistakes and start with that. 😃 good luck
