Does anyone know what material the wheel well liner is? It feels like some sort of felt material. I would like to know so, I can clean and protect it properly.

As far as I know, it's some sort of felt. I spray with semi hard pressure from garden hose. From time to time, I use a soft bristle brush. Its seems to be very similar to the product they used in both my 2014 BMW's. I've never had an issue with them.

I do the same. It has to be some type of material that is made to get wet, and I would hope be of a durable material such as outdoor carpet. I wouldn't use any harsh chemicals but I think a car wash soap and soft bristle brush shouldn't do any harm to it. The main thing I would suggest is try not to let it get too dirty.... it has been my experience it's easier to keep things clean then getting them clean after they get too dirty

Thanks for the response. I don't see why I can't use a diluted carpet cleaning solution.

It shouldn't hurt... you can always try a little bit in a spot out the line of sight to make sure.
