For the record I have seen several people reporting windshield cracking (forums & Facebook) and Honda has even replaced some under warranty. They seem to start cracking at an edge for no reason.

Good lord this is all I needed to start worrying about. Windshield installation is practically a century old standard part of the business. How could Honda screw that up and hope to maintain a reputation for quality?

And the worse thing is that I seem to be prone to these oddball things.

Make sure you file a complaint with the NHTSA.
