I wonder if there is any tire available that would have a sidewall that would bulge out more to help protect the rims but not cause any problems/side effects?
That wheel should have come with 245/40R19. 19x8.5 needs a wider tire. When it is time I will be replacing mine with this size.

Thanks for that info I've documented it and will inquire about doing the same when it comes time to replace mine. When you do yours let us know how they fit and if there are any issues or concerns. Thanks.

honda offers free rim if u damage or get curb rashes either they will fix or replace so u good
Can you provide more details? Never heard/knew of this... would this be OEM accessory wheels (like the ones I have) also? Thanks.

I find it highly unlikely that Honda would replace a rim that an owner damaged. I was going to buy the dealer provided wheel protection plan until the details suggested they only replaced or repaired the wheel if it were cracked.

I'm of that same mindset... and the reason I asked for details. As you mentioned it has also been my experience that wheel protection plans don't cover "cosmetic" damage.

I know they offer a rim package. Which I took. Which is basically a warranty on the rims. Which I got. And used already once with the slight curb rash I got. It added 13 bucks to my payment.

Is that an OEM (Honda) plan or aftermarket? I was looking at an aftermarket plan and it specifically stated "cosmetic" damage was not covered.

It’s a Honda plan. They said if I get a flat or damage a rim scratch or crack they replace it. Seemed like a no brainer just in case. And now seeing how sensitive these rims are I’m glad I got it.

How much did they charge for the plan and how many years is the plan in effect?

They even used a rim protector type tire in the Michelins but they are too narrow as someone pointed out. Doesn't protect anything at all since there is no rubber fronting the rim face which the tire was designed to do.

Thanks for the heads-up on the scratching! I found some 'Black Wax' at Pep Boys, will give it a try...
This the wax you speaking of (see attachment)? If so, good stuff... that's what I have/use.

I also accepted this offered plan for an extra 10$ a month and so glad I did as my sport wheels were already pretty spotty with curb rub damage that was pretty severe on 2 wheels and sure enough used this 5 year unlimited mile offered plan last week when I went in for routine service maintenance and sure enough they repaired all 4 wheels to pristine condition I was very impressed thinking they had replaced them at first as they did such a good job and replaced one tire completely all for free...or for the extra 10$ I happily pay extra a month for this 5 year deal as the wheel repair and tire replacement alone at only 7k mileage saved me 730$ for wheel repairs and 263$ for tire replacement....very happy I added that plan...it ALSO covers any dings, dents, and scratches up to 5 or 6 inches in length anywhere on the body that they'll repair or if necessary replace the particular body part in need over that same 5 year unlimited mile plan, pretty sweet extra tid bit of info in case you weren't fully aware man as a tech was nice enough to tell me that in detail too so it was no brainer and I had the bad luck of leaving the lot the first day with a nail puncture that was not repairable or able to be patched I mean and had to have tire replaced next day after purchasing (I know my luck goes this way which is why I happily signed up for plan) so in all so far in under 10k miles I've saved myself well over a grand in repairs, maintenance costs as they would've charged me for the first day of ownership nail issue (could've been there from test drive or picked up on way home either way would've been terrible start to ownership forking over 263$ for a tire within 24 hrs of ownership). This plan is fully covering a dent on my front bumper where a car backed into my parked Accord at a local Barnes n Noble parking lot next week which I imagine will save again almost a grand alone again already so anyone thinking of purchasing a new Accord or unaware of this offering and can somehow beg and plead to sign up for it after the fact (which my dealership would've told me tough luck and said most others would if you passed offer during original signing period) then I couldn't recommend saying **** yes show me where to sign and initial please as I have already been shown they truly honor it and my wheels and tires look pristine again and will stay that way for at least another 4.5 years and save a boat load of errands as well as no worries about dents, scratches etc up to 6 in on body of vehicle. For those that missed this offer or didn't realize how good it is for the price which would've been easy to have happen I truly feel for ya cause it's one of the few I've ever seen worth gold at a price that you won't even notice on your bill (again mine added only 10$ extra a month total to costs).
Hope this helps someone going forward or allows some that passed to beg and plead to obtain the coverage now before too much time has passed!
